£29,998 - £32,929 (including Shift Allowance and Distant Islands Allowance)
A Senior Duty Officer for Swimming Pools is required to effectively co-ordinate the management of, and oversee, all the operational procedures for the Council's 5 swimming pools. Included within the facility at Stromness there is also a gym, health suite and squash court facilities.
The successful candidate will be expected to co-ordinate the Council's Learn to Swim programme across all five pools, and to work closely with pool staff in creating an exciting and welcoming environment in all facilities with the aim of increasing usage.
You should hold or be willing to achieve a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, National Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessor Qualification and a National Pool Plant Qualification within 6 months of taking up the post.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation and their ability to provide a high standard of customer care. An HSE First Aid qualification could be an advantage.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
