Teacher of Music

27.3 hours per week (0.78 FTE)
Permanent (starting 21 August 2023)

KGS is a modern, vibrant school of over 800 pupils with a catchment area which covers Kirkwall, the East Mainland, Orphir and the North Isles.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled teacher who is committed to improvement and excellence. You will be joining departments and other teams of staff who are dedicated to providing the best for all young people. Our school has a wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer including drama, music, and sport.

You will be able to teach all aspects of the relevant subject across all stages. You will be joining a highly successful team, in a recently built and well-resourced school.

You must be registered, or in the process of registering, with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.

Salary will be based on the Main Grade Scale of the SNCT Salary Tables plus a Distant Islands Allowance. We offer a generous relocation package.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
