This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a diverse and fast paced greenspace Infrastructure team. You will be involved in a variety of tasks and challenges to help maintain our award winning parks and open spaces throughout Perth and Kinross. The post holder is required to undertake the efficient and effective planning and management of the programmes and quality standards of the work carried out by the Greenspace Infrastructure Squad including the procurement and administration of small infrastructure works contracts to meet Community Greenspace policies, strategies and plans. Ensure health and safety, stock taking and expenditure procedures are adhered to and that maintenance and inspections are properly carried out. To support staff in the preparation, implementation and development of Quality Systems in Community Greenspace. To assist with the collation of performance information, procurement and management of contracts and audit contracts to ensure compliance with legislative requirements. Explore and establish partnership working practices with Perth and Kinross communities and other stakeholders to develop alternative delivery mechanisms where appropriate for maintenance and or use of local community greenspace sites.
The person will have the ability to think quickly, using experience, legislation and policies to resolve problems. It is a requirement to have excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise work loads, manage time and keep accurate records; ability and commitment to communicate effectively and politely with colleagues, external partners and members of the public; ability to use databases, spreadsheets and other computer systems (ideally including mapping systems). You will be required to carry out site visits therefore a driving licence and reasonable level of fitness is required. Minimum HNC or equivalent for responsibilities to be undertaken or appropriate equivalent experience in work related discipline. Proven experience in the areas relevant to the post Commitment to professional development of self and others with experience of supporting and training volunteers to gain new skills. Proven ability to deal with a wide cross section of the public in relation to customer requests and expectations Experience in innovative delivery or problem solving to achieve results. Knowledge of financial administration and budgeting Understanding of database management & customer survey systems. Excellent PR skills. Ability to resolve problems independently and/or refer if necessary. Committed to providing an excellent service. Must be pleasant and courteous at all times. Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences. A knowledge of Chairing and conducting meetings. An understanding of Health and Safety legislation in relation to their areas of operation. Must be able to think quickly and respond to circumstances as they arise. Able to meet work schedule targets and other appropriate deadlines. Organisational skills, ability to plan work, manage time & keep accurate records. Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and email.
You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
