An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Childcare Supervisor at Luncarty Wraparound Care before and after school during term-time and full-time, on a rota basis, during school holidays.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain a wider range of skills as the role involves assisting in the day to day running of the services and deputising in the absence of the Supervisor.
As a Deputy Childcare Supervisor you will support the Childcare Supervisor to plan and organise the day to day operations of the service to provide flexible childcare to children from nursery to Primary 7 years. You will assist in the provision of high quality care and a comprehensive range of appropriate stimulating and creative activities, for example arts and crafts, storytelling, den building, physical play and organising trips and outings appropriate to the needs and interests of the children in the service.
You will be expected to work closely with the Supervisor and working as a member of the Kids Club Team and wider School Team contributing to children's learning and development within a safe and inclusive environment outwith school hours in a registered childcare service.
A flexible approach to working conditions will be required to work; the contracted hours are 23 hours per week, term-time, between 8am - 9am and 2.30pm - 6pm and holidays on a rota basis, between the hours of 8am - 6pm.
We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate experience within early learning or a childcare environment with a good knowledge of childcare and the relevant governing bodies (Scottish Social Services Council, Care Inspectorate).
The role is child focused which requires sensitivity, patience and compassion along with a welcoming approach to generate a feeling of trust and safety for children and their family / carers. A genuine interest in the development of children and their well-being is essential and the important qualities are kindness, sensitivity, respectfulness, and good manners and to respect confidentiality at all times.
As a Deputy Childcare Supervisor you will be expected to deputise for the Childcare Supervisor in their absence.
You will demonstrate excellent planning and organisation skills; the ability to maintain office procedures and systems establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents and carers and other professionals to ensure the effective delivery of services.
