£6,467 - £6,952 (16 Hours per week, Term-time only)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Play Assistant to work as part of the Gaelic Medium nursery team at Breadalbane Academy.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to enter into the profession and progress a career in childcare, gaining experience while being supported to gain a qualification.

As a Play Assistant you will assist in the provision of high quality play and lunchtime experiences within the Gaelic Medium Early Learning and Childcare setting. This will involve contributing to the development, planning and implementation of appropriate experiences within a play/care curriculum before, during and after lunch time.

No entry qualifications are required , however you will be required and supported to work towards one of the qualifications below:

- NC / HNC Early Education and Childcare
- SVQ Level 2 or / 3 in Social Services (Children & Young People).

It is expected that you will have a good level of fluency in the elements of listening and talking in Gaelic and also reading in Gaelic.

You will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for Day Care of Children within 6 months of commencing employment and responsible for maintaining annual membership.

As the successful candidate, you will be supported to access further training both award bearing and continued professional development.

The ability to deliver Early Learning and Childcare in Gaelic Language is essential and the ability to work in a team situation and have a flexible approach to working with young children and parents is required.
