Payment Support Assistant - PKC09237

Education & Children’s Services (ECS) Finance Support Team are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join them, who are focussed on providing excellent customer service, embracing change, and constantly striving to improve the service provided. 

The role includes:- 

Utilising various IT systems undertaking duties relating to procurement and payment to third parties/suppliers in accordance with ECS Finance Policies and Procedures and other relevant guidance. 

Assisting with the administration of Education Maintenance Allowance applications and payments. Processing payments in respect of Foster/Kinship Carers and other related payments via SWIFT. Assisting in the administration of sales ledger invoices/credit notes as required.

Processing recharges associated with invoices paid centrally. Assisting internal/external customers with queries as required such as schools and suppliers. Assisting in the distribution of incoming and outgoing electronic mail.

It will be expected that the successful candidate will undertake duties within the wider team. Undertaking other duties within the level of responsibility outlined in the job family profile.

The Individual

The successful applicant will have excellent organisation skills as well as a financial background.  You should have the ability to operate efficiently and accurately working to strict deadlines within a rapidly changing and challenging environment .

It is essential that applicants have strong IT skills and have experience of MS Office applications.  A good working knowledge of Excel and proven numeracy skills are also an essential requirement.

It would be desirable for the applicant to have knowledge of of financial and information management systems. 

You must also possess effective interpersonal and excellent communication skills, together with the ability to meet tight deadlines and be a team player. 

You will be a focal point for a number of internal customers with your knowledge relating to their payments as well as ensuring that they comply with relevant ECS finance policy and procedures. 

You will maintain a flexible approach within the team with the ability to react to changing priorities quickly. Participation in the PKC Flexi-time Scheme applies to this post.
