An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Play Assistant to work as part of the nursery team at Kirkmichael Primary School.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to enter into the profession and progress a career in childcare, gaining experience while being supported to gain a qualification.

As a Play Assistant you will assist in the provision of high quality play and lunchtime experiences within Early Learning and Childcare.  This will involve contributing to the development, planning and implementation of appropriate experiences within a play/care curriculum before, during and after lunch time.  

No entry qualifications are required , however you will be required and supported to work towards one of the qualifications below: 
NC / HNC Early Education and Childcare
SVQ Level 2 or / 3 in Social Services (Children & Young People).

You will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for Day Care of Children within 6 months of commencing employment and responsible for maintaining annual membership. 

The successful candidate will be supported to access further training both award bearing and continued professional development.

The Individual

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can be proactive and use their initiative and work well with our two nursery ECP's.  You should enjoy working with children and have experience of doing so.  You will be expected to provide learning experiences for the children and support their overall health and wellbeing.  You will be given all the support you need to develop your career in education should you wish to.  We are committed to providing career long professional learning.
