St. Madoes Primary School, Glencarse

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Play Assistant to be an effective member of our Early Years team by assisting in the provision of high quality play and lunch time experiences within the Nursery.  This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent role within Perth and Kinross Council.

No entry qualifications are required, however you will be required and supported to work towards one of the qualifications below:
- NC / HNC Early Education and Childcare.
- SVQ Level 2 or / 3 in Social Services (Children & Young People).

It is essential that you gain registration as a support worker with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for Day Care of Children within 6 months of commencing employment and are responsible for maintaining annual membership.

The successful candidate will be supported to access further training both award bearing and continued professional development.

The Individual

The successful candidate will work closely with the Nursery staff team to provide coherent and consistent support to children whilst maintaining adult :child ratios over the lunch time period as well as support high quality lunch time experiences for all children.

You will assist in ensuring resources and materials match children’s needs and interests.

Ideally you will have some experience working with young children and be able to work as part of a team and use your initiative when required.
