St John's RC Academy, Perth

An opportunity has arisen to join our staff team as a Pupil Care and Welfare Officer.

Working alongside our existing Pupil Care and Welfare Officer, the successful post-holders will build positive relationships with young people and help them to ensure they are behaving appropriately both in school and in the community.

This role requires a restorative practitioner who is calm in nature, who understands and has experience of working with young people.

The successful applicants will work in close collaboration with House Teams in identifying and engaging with those in need of support.  Additionally, the successful post-holders will support staff in implementing our Relationships Policy.  Working alongside our Family Support Worker and our other Pupil Care and Welfare Officer, some home visits may be required, as part of the support offered to young people.

Set at the top of Perth’s North Inch and overlooking the River Tay, St John's RC Academy is at the heart of the North Inch Community Campus.  The 2-18 all-through school provides education for over one thousand children and young people from nursery to S6.  The campus is a hub of opportunities for the local community, utilising state of art sports and cultural facilities, offering a wide range of services for all ages.

St John’s RC Academy’s success is built on respectful relationships, strong partnership working, a culture of self-evaluation for improvement and effective leadership at all levels.  The school offers a wide range of excellent learning experiences for children and young people and achievement is significantly improving across the school year-on-year.

As a Catholic school, the school’s vision and values are rooted in the Gospel.  St John’s RC Academy is also a Fairtrade School, an Eco-School and the first all-through school in the UK to achieve UNICEF’s Rights Respecting Schools Gold Award.
