Your duties will include updating the survey of vacant and derelict land and the processing of associated data, and assisting with the collection, updating and analysis of economic and environmental data, including the employment land survey and renewable energy developments completion monitoring. You will also have the opportunity of contributing to the wider work of the team in supporting the production of the Local Development Plan and associated supplementary guidance, and to some of the work of the Council’s low carbon Group particularly in relation to district heating and alternative fuels and the development of a sustainable energy action plan.
Applicants need to be familiar with Microsoft Office software packages and an ability to use GIS would be desirable. Students interested in applying for the Summer Student post are required to have a full current driving licence.
Ideally you will be in your second or third year of study in planning or environmental science or renewable energy or a similar course. Students who expect to graduate this summer may also be considered for the post if going on to post graduate study.
