Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley.

This is a new and exciting opportunity for an experiences communications professional to lead the development, design and delivery of the stakeholder engagement and communications plan to support the implementation of Renfrewshire Council’s new transformation and organisational design programme.

As a member of the Corporate Communications team and reporting to the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager, you will be embedded in the Programme Management Office, providing strategic communications advice and support to the Strategic Programme Manager on a day to day basis, aligning the planning and delivery of communications to the requirements of the Strategic Programme Manager and programme timelines.

You will be an effective communicator with experience of delivering successful change communications in a large and complex environment. You will demonstrate confidence and sensitivity in managing complex change communications, without compromising the reputation of the council or the integrity of the corporate brand.

You will provide a vital link between with Programme Management Office and the Corporate Communications and Marketing teams with the ability to identify and manage threats, challenges and opportunities for programme communications in the context of the council’s overall communications and marketing strategy, drawing on support and resource from the wider communications and marketing service.

It is essential you are educated to degree level or equivalent e.g NCTJ Journalism Diploma and have experience of providing strategic communications advice and implementing change communications across multiple stakeholder groups in a large and diverse organisation.

You will demonstrate an expert knowledge of the current media landscape, the ability to develop engaging communications and marketing collateral and effective team working, negotiation and influencing. In addition, you will possess effective digital skills and a track-record in internal channel development.

Knowledge and understanding of the local government environment would be desirable.

You will be based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley. This post is politically restricted and fixed term for 36 months.
