Reporting to the Head of Finance and Business Services, you will provide leadership to the Corporate Finance team, provide financial analysis and information to budget holders and to Finance Business Partners, have responsibility for internal financial reporting, both to the Corporate Management Team and to Elected Members, and act as chief business partner to Scotland Excel, Renfrewshire Valuation Joint Board and the Glasgow and Clyde Valley Strategic Development Planning Authority Joint Committee, for whom Renfrewshire Council is lead authority. With a large professional team, you will also lead the provision of tax, treasury and capital finance support for the Council, and work with Digital and Business Services colleagues to ensure the continual development of financial reporting systems and processes. You will be a CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant with significant experience in delivering statutory reporting as well as developing people and processes. You will have excellent technical accounting, financial management and organisational skills, and be an accomplished communicator. Here at Renfrewshire Council, we are currently reviewing our working models, with a view to establishing the right mix of home and office work across teams, where appropriate. The Finance team is still predominantly working from home, and attending Renfrewshire House for team meetings, quiet space, training, and collaborative purposes. We have a range of excellent staff policies in place, including a great pension scheme, a Cycle to Work salary sacrifice scheme, a flexible working policy and we offer support for working carers, as a Carer Positive employer. If you would like to be a part of our team, please apply by the closing date of Sunday 29th January. The first-round assessment centre date has been set as Tuesday 7th February, with second-round interviews provisionally scheduled for 16th and 17th February. Please note the following dates have been identified for the recruitment process, and if shortlisted you will be asked to make yourself available on: • Assessment Centre – Monday 7 February 2023 • Interview Date – either Thursday 16 February 2023 or Friday 17 February 2023 - exact date TBC
