Spateston Early Learning and Childcare Centre is about to relocate to a purpose built, state of the art new building which will enable children to have free access to both the indoor and outdoor learning environment.


Spateston Early Learning and Childcare Centre is a highly sought-after provision, which ensures a high-quality early learning service to the children and families in attendance. Practice is based on strong nurturing approaches within a stimulating environment which engages and motivates children in their learning through play.  In line with the requirements of Renfrewshire Council the Centre nurtures, supports, and encourage all children to enable them to do their very best. Positive inspection reports confirm the high-quality provision being delivered at Spateston Early Learning and Childcare Centre.


Renfrewshire Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled leader who can demonstrate the necessary skills and experience to deliver a quality early learning and childcare provision and ensure that the children attending are offered the best start in life and are ready to succeed.

You will be responsible for the overall management of the early learning and childcare centre. Extensive experience of working in an early years establishment, previous management experience and a working knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence and How Good is Our Early Learning and Childcare, the self-evaluation framework, is required.


Applicants applying for the posts should be able to demonstrate the necessary skills required for leading an Early Learning and Childcare Centre within the current national and local context.

It is essential that you possess an HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7, in addition you must be working towards/or willing to work towards a BA in childhood practice or equivalent.


Successful applications must also meet the registration requirements of SSSC.
