Living Wage

Renfrewshire Council supports payment of the Living Wage of £9.07 per hour as the minimum level of remuneration to its employees. Therefore, successful applicants will be paid the 'Living Wage' - (the Hourly Rate for the post + a Living Wage Pay Supplement, in order to bring their earnings to £9.07 per hour).

Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership delivers high quality home care services to people of all ages and with different care needs. We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, motivated and flexible people to join care at home services including home support, reablement and rapid response, extra care housing and overnight care.

Renfrewshire Care at home service are offering 25 hour contracts based on a 4 on 4 off shift basis. The service operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week with core working hours between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM.

Duties include assisting service users with all aspects of personal care including help with washing, dressing, toileting, medication, etc; help with preparing breakfast and other meals when necessary and assist service users to maintain and develop their daily living skills and improve independence.

You will require to undertake all relevant training for the post including attaining a SVQ2 in Social Care. It is essential that you have experience of working in a care setting and delivering personal care or in an informal/personal capacity; have an awareness of a range of long term conditions and have an understanding of the needs of people who require help from care services; be able to demonstrate within your application form that you are reliable and flexible with the ability to work as part of a team. You will also be required to demonstrate that you can communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) and this would include monitoring and reporting changes in the identified needs of service users including the handling of sensitive information.

You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of your start date.
