Living Wage

Renfrewshire Council supports payment of the Living Wage of £9.34 per hour as the minimum level of remuneration to its employees . Therefore, successful applicants will be paid the ‘Living Wage’ - (the Hourly Rate for the post + a Living Wage Pay Supplement, in order to bring their earnings to £9.34 per hour).


You will provide a consistent high quality service in all areas allocated to you within the care home environment to ensure that the environment meets the requirements of the service specification and expectations of clients and staff alike.

Key tasks for which you will be responsible include; carrying out tasks relating to catering, cleaning and laundry services; ensuring that the clients’ dignity and confidentiality is maintained at all times; working within all areas of the care home environment of Environmental Services as instructed by the Assistant Facilities Manager or other appropriate manager and ensuring that all areas used by the clients and care staff are maintained to the required standard on a consistent and timely basis.

It is essential that you have experience of working within the catering, cleaning and laundry service and high awareness of current hygiene practices. You must have organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

An SVQ (or equivalent) in Catering, SVQ (or equivalent) in Cleaning or elementary food hygiene certificate is desirable.

Please note that Renfrewshire Council has three Care Homes spread across Paisley and Renfrew. The vacancies remaining have a maximum of 16 hours per week and will include alternative weekend work.
