Based at Abbey House, 8 Seedhill Road, Paisley. 

 

You will work alongside Social Workers, para professionals and Care at Home teams, undertaking assessment, care management and practical interventions. 

 

Our Occupational Therapists operate within Reablement Services across main locality bases. All Occupational Therapists operate under the Council’s WORKSMART arrangements which promote mobile and flexible work practices.  You will therefore be expected to travel throughout Renfrewshire.

 

You will provide appropriate advice, guidance and practical support to individuals, carers and groups within the community, engage in rehabilitative work, adhere to legislation, standards and procedures and ensure the effective use of resources.

 

It is essential that you have a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health Professionals’ Council. You must have previous occupational therapy experience, preferably in a social work service setting; proven assessment skills, effective IT, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. You will be motivated and flexible in your approach with a commitment to social work values and have the ability to build strong relationships with partner agencies.

You will be expected to record and monitor work using AIS therefore experience of using electronic case record systems is desirable. A full current driving licence is desirable.

 

Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the service’s commitment to continuous improvement.
