The GCV Green Network are seeking to employ a Peatland ACTION Project Officer, funded through the Peatland ACTION Fund, to develop and deliver a programme of large-scale peatland restoration across the eight local authorities that make up Glasgow City Region.
You will identify priority locations for restoration and engage with private landowners and public agencies to promote peatland restoration on their land. You will support them through feasibility work, funding applications (primarily the Peatland Action Fund) and manage on site works with contractors.
It is essential that you have a relevant degree e.g., Geography, Ecology, Land Use Management, and post qualification experience in assessing peatland restoration feasibility, securing funding and project management.
You will be comfortable working alone in remote locations and have a UK driving license.
The post will be a mix of office based (Glasgow City Centre), home working and site based.
The post is currently funded until March 2025.
