Job Description

Located in the Economic Development Service you will have drive and determination and can take a lead in helping us achieve our ambitions for Renfrewshire, delivering Renfrewshire’s Young Persons Guarantee as part of our agreed Economic Recovery Plan, improving the lives and opportunities for all of Renfrewshire’s young people and securing wellbeing through a stronger and more inclusive and sustainable economy.

You will principally be responsible for leading and driving forward the implementation of Renfrewshire’s ambitions around offering a guaranteed opportunity of a job, placement, training or volunteering for every 16-24 year old.


Based at Renfrewshire Council, the post will support the work of the Local Employability Partnership and will work across the key partnership agencies in the area to ensure that the Renfrewshire guarantee is successful and accessible to all. It is essential that you will a degree in a relevant discipline or able to demonstrate extensive experience gained in an employability / people focused environment. In addition you will have at least 3 years’ experience working in a senior role in a public / govt body with a working knowledge of policy, reporting and funding. It is further essential that you have a record of partnership working and ability to network and develop supportive relationships with internal colleagues, employers and partner agencies.

You will have a strategic mindset and effective communication and influencing skills. You will take insight from information, finds solutions to problems and have the planning skills, political awareness, resilience and commercial acumen to deliver results.

It is desirable that you have specialist training in economic development, leadership or management.
