This post is based within a team which is recognised by Inspectors as delivering high quality services and very effective support and training.

You will be a Social Worker in the Pre and Post birth assessment team working across the whole of Renfrewshire. You will complete Child Protection pre birth assessments and post birth comprehensive, multi agency parenting assessments to ensure that children reach their permanent destination within the child’s timeframe. You will use the latest research methodologies to assist with your assessments of families.

It is essential you have a BA (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent; be registered with SSSC; and have knowledge of social work procedures and policies; a knowledge of legislation concerning social work; effective organisational, interpersonal, IT, assessment and communication skills both verbal and written. Experience of working with people who have addiction, housing and employability issues is desirable as is previous experience of working in a pre birth or early years setting along with experience of permanency planning but an interest in this area is essential. It is essential that you have current experience within a Children and Families setting and have experience in client supervision, undertaking individual work and co-working and experience of multi-agency working. It is desirable but not essential that you have knowledge and experience of SWIFT.

You must be motivated, flexible in approach, able to work out with normal hours on occasions; committed to Social Work values with the ability to prioritise and manage your workload and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative and build strong relationships with other professionals. It is desirable that you can demonstrate self awareness and an ability to use these qualities in your work with clients.
