Renfrewshire Council is committed to providing the highest quality Children's Services and offers a range of resources to support children and young people remain within their own community and where possible, with their family.   We are currently looking to recruit a Qualified Social Worker to the post of Whole Systems Social Worker within our Whole System team. This opportunity has arisen due to the current post holder taking a 1 year leave of absence and the post will therefore be offered on a fixed term basis and will commence on 17th September 2019 for one year. Applications are invited from enthusiastic, forward thinking individuals for the post.   As indicated Renfrewshire Council is continuing to develop new and innovative approaches to working with young people and our Whole Systems approach has been extended to include care leavers up to the age of 20yrs.   This is a specialist post with an emphasis on youth justice therefore you should possess post qualifying experience and have a working understanding and knowledge of youth/criminal justice and child care practice.    Training and experience in the use of risk assessment tools is desirable i.e YLS/ASSET; LSCMI; STARTAV; SAVVRY etc and a proven ability to engage and maintain appropriate relationships with vulnerable young people who present with complex needs is essential.   It is essential you have CQSW or DIPSW or appropriate qualification.   The role will include undertaking a range of statutory interventions, participate in duty, provide high quality reports and recordings.   This post will also involve working with other relevant partner agencies, possibly within a multi-disciplinary setting.   Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for twelve months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
