This post is internal and open to employees of Renfrewshire Council only. Based in Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley, Renfrewshire Council is looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic individual into the role of Technology Architect within the Enterprise Architecture team. The Enterprise Architecture team performs a critical role in the design and sourcing of ICT solutions, and you will orchestrate the effective alignment of its technology domain to meet the Council’s business objectives. With deep practical and theoretical experience of infrastructure technologies and systems, you will provide detailed technical architecture expertise to support the delivery of Council programmes and projects.
The Council is currently planning the migration of data centre services to offsite data centres and migrating to a number of Microsoft technologies, giving fantastic opportunities to design and implement technology driven change to the business. The Technology Architect will be a key resource in the delivery of these ambitious programmes. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of working on major technology design and rollout projects, experience of infrastructure technologies and systems including Internet Connectivity, Storage, Local and Wide Area, Telephony, Servers, Backup and Recovery, Mobile Services, application virtualisation, IaaS solutions, and RDBMS and a good level of knowledge of security products and architectures. Good communication skills, experience of senior stakeholder engagement and the ability to manage conflict are essential. You will also guide the work of the Senior Solutions Architect – Technology.
An Enterprise Architecture related qualification such as TOGAF 9 Foundation or BCS Practitioner Certificate in Enterprise and Solution Architecture is desirable as is knowledge of Agile development methodologies and research techniques. If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
