This is an exciting opportunity to join Renfrewshire Council’s Roads and Transportation Team. Renfrewshire Council is working to replace its Urban Traffic Control system and to embark on a comprehensive programme of signal infrastructure renewal. The UTC Management & Development Officer is a key member of the Roads and Transportation Team and has responsibility for routine and reactive maintenance of the Traffic Signals situated on the road network within Renfrewshire.

You will be part of a team providing traffic engineering support within Renfrewshire and will be responsible for designing and maintaining specialist traffic signal control systems.

 

You must have experience of intelligent traffic control systems at an operational level with experience of traffic requirements and systems operations and experience of traffic signal design and installation.

 

It is essential you have effective communication, project management and organisational skills, working knowledge of current legislation and design guides, awareness of current Health & Safety legislation and experience of managing resources and budgets.

 

A Degree/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or in a computing discipline or evidence of equivalent experience, a proven track record in network operations and a current full driving licence are essential.
