Role Purpose

Scottish Borders Council is looking for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead and manage the Council’s statutory Strategic Housing, Policy and Development Service. You will be required to lead on the production of and effective implementation of the Council’s Local Housing Strategy (LHS), ensuring that the service has clear strategies and programmes in place in respect of affordable housing, fuel poverty & energy efficiency, homelessness, gypsy travellers, private and rented Sectors. The Council is a stock transfer authority and you will be required to display significant experience of partnership working to deliver LHS objectives, along with the ability to drive the continued success of our Strategic Housing Investment Plan programme (SHIP).

Essential

Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline such as geography or evidence of comparable experience and training.

Postgraduate qualification in Housing

Corporate membership of a relevant professional body such as CIH

Continuing professional development.
