Role Purpose

Scottish Borders Council are looking for an enthusiastic Modern Apprentice to join the roads infrastructure teams.

Working as a Modern Apprentice - Trainee Civil Engineering Technician, this is an exciting opportunity to develop skills for a career and for life under the wing of the Council. This is paid employment while gaining an HNC in Civil Engineering and a relevant SVQ through study at Edinburgh College one day per week.

In a structured training programme you will assist Civil Engineers on a variety of infrastructure projects including working in the Roads Planning, Roads Design & Construction and Traffic Management teams.

Essential

5 standard Grades, or National Qualifications, including English and Maths
A Higher pass in either Maths, Physics, a technical subject or significant appropriate work experience
