Role Purpose

SBC Roads Operations are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work at our Duns roads depot carrying out all aspects of roads and winter maintenance. Although not essential, a Class C HGV licence would be desirable.

Successful applicants will need to be able to demonstrate considerable experience working within either a highways or construction environment as well having a sound knowledge of Health & safety.

Within our Infrastructure and Environment service, Roads operations and SBc Contracts encompass a range of highly visible front line services. This job requires the post holder to deliver Services throughout the year across the area of operations, undertaking duties relating to Roads Maintenance, Winter Maintenance and SBc Contracts activities

Essential

A basic education (Numeracy and literacy)
Certified relevant machinery and plant use qualification/s (i.e. Lantra certificates, NPTC, SVQ 1, CSCS, CPCS or NPORS cards) or obtained within reasonable timescales

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability.
