Role Purpose

This post will support and contribute to the delivery of Council procurement services to increase benefits, drive down cost and improve governance through the provision of a proactive and high quality procurement service delivering quantifiable outcomes and best value to the Council while supporting the achievement of the Council’s plans and objectives.


Qualified to MCIPS (intermediate stage) or equivalent (SVQ/NVQ level 3 in procurement or CIPS qualification ladder at level 4)
Relevant HND in Business Studies or an equivalent related discipline
Demonstrate equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills necessary to undertake the role

Experience of strategic sourcing and operational procurement within a large multi-disciplinary organisation

Experience of preparing and managing specific procurement activities

Significant experience in negotiating contracts and/or framework agreements

Experience in constructively challenging and influencing colleagues in other departments
