Role Purpose

Scottish Borders Council are looking to recruit a Surfacing Squad Foreperson within the Roads and Infrastructure Department based at Newtown St.Boswells. The successful candidate will plan, organise and supervise surfacing, patching and minor civil engineering works to a given programme carried out by the surfacing squads, whilst complying with the relevant Health & Safety, environmental and quality legislation and standards.

Essential

SVQ Level 3 in Construction Contracting or within 2 years of being appointed.
Appropriate CSCS card.
Appropriate National Highway Sector Scheme Qualifications or within 2 years of being appointed.
Current Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme Certificate.

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
