What is the role?
We have Customer Services Advisor vacancies within our busy Centres ranging from 20 to 35 hours per week.
Customer Services within South Ayrshire Council is a fast paced environment that is ever changing to ensure the services provided always meet the changing needs of the customer. Working in this role you need to be completely customer focussed and willing to go above and beyond to ensure you deliver the best service possible to each and every customer. Customers all have different expectations and we are looking for advisors who are able to not only meet these expectations, but consistently exceed them.
As a customer services advisor you will help customers who visit in person at one of our five Customer Service Centres. You will also help customers who call our 0300 number and those who wish to contact us electronically.
To succeed you need to be completely customer focussed and flexible to meet the changing needs of the service and have the drive and determination to achieve performance standards.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience of working in a similar role and can demonstrate strong ICT skills and skills in handling complex customer enquiries face to face and by phone.
Please note during the Covid pandemic you will be required to provide a call handling service from home until we begin the phased reopening of our centres. Training and equipment will be provided. You will however require internet access.
Interviews will be held over two stages. Stage one of the process, initial interview and assessment, will be conducted by phone. You will require an internet connection to access the South Ayrshire Council website.
If you are successful at stage one, you will be invited to take part in a stage 2 interview. These interviews will be held by video-call or face to face in a physically distance environment, depending on the national guidance on the date interviews are held.

The Grade of these posts areas Grade 2 / Level 5, the hourly rate is from £11.29 to £12.33 and the annual salaries are as follows:
Post A (2 posts) (35hrs) - £20,604 to £22,502
Post B (20hrs) - £11,774 to £12,858
