Job Description

Vacancy for Depute Principal Educational Psychologist

South Ayrshire Educational Psychology Service is based in Queen Margaret Academy, Ayr, just 35 – 40 minutes’ drive from Glasgow and Lanarkshire.  The school is being rebuilt and will include purpose built facilities for the service.

This post offers the opportunity to assist in leading a dynamic Educational Psychology Service (EPS) whose vision is of ‘equity, excellence and empowerment through psychology’.  We have a passionate commitment to applying psychological research to improve the educational outcomes of all children and young people but especially those who are most vulnerable.

As a service, we have a strong focus on reducing the poverty related attainment gap and developing a nurturing approach across a variety of sectors including: early years, primary, secondary, specialist educational  provision and services that support children who are looked after.  The Service actively encourages and supports innovative and creative practice.  The Depute Principal Educational Psychologist plays a key role within the leadership of the psychological services team.

The Grade of this post is Depute Principal Psychologist Maingrade (Point 2) and the annual salary is £56,370.
