Job Description

What is the role?

To provide a laundry service and to ensure that the laundry and establishment are cleaned to a high standard and in doing so make sure that Infection Control systems are in place at all times and that service users rights and choices are maintained at all times.

The Grade of these posts are Grade 1 / Level 3; the hourly rate is £8.93 to £9.74 and the annual salary is from £9,312 to £10,158.

South Ayrshire Council applies the Scottish Local Government Living Wage for its workforce.  This means that the minimum hourly rate for South Ayrshire Council employees will be £9.34.  Although this post currently has a basic hourly rate of £8.93, £9.34 per hour will be paid.  The Living Wage will also be used in the calculation of any hours worked beyond 37 per week and on any allowance based on a proportion of the hourly rate e.g. outwith core and night working. 

Working Pattern:

The recommended candidate will have a working pattern of 20 hours per week:

Week 1 -  6 days; Week 2 - 4 days

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with protected adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
