Job Description

What is the role?

The Place Making and Regeneration Officer will lead on the delivery of the strategic objectives of the Council relating to regeneration and place-making.  The collaborative approach to designing better places with our local businesses and communities in terms of land, economic sites and transportation.  This role will develop a comprehensive understanding of current and forecasted service delivery across the service against the strategic place-making ambitions for South Ayrshire Council.

The officer will lead on the development of feasibility work, detailed planning and building partnerships with stakeholders, private and public sector partners.  The role will include bidding for local and national funding in support of the strategic place-making strategy, ensuring the viability of projects to meet agreed targets.

The Grade for this post is Grade 3 / Level 10, the hourly rate is £22.30 to £21.57 and the annual salary is £37,047 - £39,365.  

This is a key role within the Council’s Economy & Regeneration Team and will work with the Council’s partners and stakeholders to deliver the £80 million Ayrshire Growth Deal Aerospace and Space Programme facilitating the creation of 4,000 jobs; as well as ensuring the delivery of the Council’s Strategic Economic Plan: Vision 2030.

This post is part funded by the Advancing Manufacturing Challenge Fund (“AMCF”) which is a competitive challenge fund being delivered in partnership with the European Structural and Investment Funds Programme 2014-2020, specifically, the European Regional Development Fund, as part of SPRITE.
