•Experience within our Community Learning and Development Team, where you will carry out general duties relating to your role.
•SVQ Level 2 in Youth Work (SCQF level 5)
•A range of Modern Apprentice Challenges to further develop your skills
•£6.15 Per Hour x 35 Hours Per Week over 7 days
You will need:
•Good verbal and written communication skills
•An interest in working with young people
•Accuracy with a strong attention to detail
•Organised and reliable with a strong sense of commitment
•Good customer service awareness
The Council provides a wide range of employability opportunities for people in South Ayrshire in order to support them in gaining experience, training and employment. This programme is part of the council’s youth employability initiative. We are committed to offering career development opportunities for young people within South Ayrshire and to comply with the conditions of funding from skills development Scotland, applicants must be 19 years of age or under or under, 29 years of age if you are care experienced and/or have additional support needs before the start date.
As a Youth Work Modern Apprentice you will be required to work with our youth work staff in a variety of settings across South Ayrshire.
Based within Community Learning & Development you may be required to work with other council services that are delivering youth work priorities as part of your employment. The main areas of work will be working in our community and schools based youth work teams or supporting our Young Scot team.
The closing date for this post is 20 August 2019 assessment centre and interviews will take place on 02 September 2019.
