An excellent opportunity has arisen for three individuals to join the council’s Benefits Are Changing Team for a period of six months, supporting tenants affected by the changes to the welfare benefits system.
The team sits within the Housing Service and works closely with the local housing teams, the Job Centre Plus, the Universal Credit Service Centre and other partner organisations.
As an officer within the Benefits Are Changing Team you should have significant experience of working in a customer service environment.
You should also have a working knowledge of the issues in relation to the Welfare Reform programme.
Excellent IT skills are required as well as the ability to organise and prioritise workload in an efficient way to respond and adapt to the challenging policy landscape.
You should also possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work with a wide variety of people.
You will be eligible to participate in South Lanarkshire Council's Car Pool Scheme as it would be advantageous to have access to a vehicle for business purposes if required to travel to alternative locations.
As part of our approach to good practice and safer recruitment we carry out a number of pre-employment checks for example, Identity, Asylum and Immigration and employment history etc.
