South Lanarkshire Council administers the recruitment process on behalf of South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture.
South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Library Assistant to join the team based at Biggar Library.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team to deliver a range of Library Services to the community. Tasks include providing support to customers with Active IT services, participating in promotional events and activities to encourage literacy development and dealing with face to face, telephone and online customer enquiries.
It is essential that you have an enthusiastic and flexible approach and can demonstrate an enthusiasm for books and reading. You must be computer literate. You must have excellent communication and customer care skills.
As part of our approach to good practice and safer recruitment we carry out a number of pre-employment checks for example, Identity, Asylum and Immigration and employment history etc.
This post is excepted in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 2003.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture.
