In response to the rapidly developing Covid-19 situation, South Lanarkshire Council will continue to follow Government guidelines whilst continuing to deliver key front line services to some of the most vulnerable in the community.
Urgently required - Social Care Assistants to help care for our elderly service users within our care homes. Various hours and shift patterns available including evenings and weekends.
You will contribute to meeting the varying degrees of personal, social and emotional needs of Older People within your community.
You will be part of a team promoting social inclusion by working with people to maximise their personal independence, health and wellbeing.
You will be required to undertake a range of personal/physical care tasks which may include assistance with washing, dressing, eating, toileting, administering medication and any other supports in accordance with the care plan.
You will be providing the older people in our community positive support and encouragement to make their own choices and decisions in all aspects of their daily lives and achieve their personal goals.
This post is excepted in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 2003.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with protected adults.
Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by South Lanarkshire Council.
