The Care at Home Service operates seven days a week with a focus on helping people remain as independent as possible in their own home. The role of the team is to focus on Reablement/Rapid Response; complex and palliative care. As a Home Carer in South Lanarkshire you will work alongside a team of professionals within the Health and Social Care Partnership. You will provide support to people in their own home, to assist them to build upon their skills and abilities, to allow them to continue to live independently.
A number of flexible opportunities exist for people wishing to work in a challenging and rewarding environment. We are looking for people of all ages, male and female to become home carers. The care at home service is often there to facilitate people coming home from hospital faster to reduce the number of days they spend in hospital. They are also there to respond to people in the community who become unwell. In the past, these people would end up in hospital and we need to respond with additional support with the help of health colleagues to support them at home and prevent their admission to hospital.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the Organisation.

There are a range of flexible shift patterns available over the roster which includes evenings and weekends and will be required to work a shift pattern which could be 7 days over 14 on a set pattern.
Additional increments for working unsocial hours will also apply.
There are a variety of hours available - more details will be discussed at each locality.
South Lanarkshire Council will provide and fund all required training including induction and support to achieve an SVQ2 qualification in Social Care. You will also be provided with your work uniform and personal protective equipment, which includes an electronic hand held device (mobile telephone) which you will use to undertake the role safely and effectively.
