Job Description

A position has arisen in our arboricultural team for an Arboricultural Assistant. Our teams aim is to manage, protect and enhance, a thriving benefit-generating canopy cover that is in tune with South Lanarkshire’s needs, its aspirations and keeps pace with the challenges of our times.

You will deal with arboricultural related enquiries, inspect, specify and price work for internal clients.  You will be responsible for daily running and supervision of the arboricultural teams. You will ensure work is carried out in compliance with best practice and Health and safety Legislation.

Desirable Candidate should ideally have:

- Experience in the inspection, risk assessment and proactive management of trees  

- An awareness and experience in the application of BS 3998:2010 and working knowledge of  the legislation relating to trees/woodlands

- You will have good communication, people skills and must be able to deal with challenging situations using tact and diplomacy.

- A qualification in Arboriculture to Level 3/4 (National Qualification Framework) or equivalent, or experience at that level is desirable

- Professional Tree Inspection Certificate or the level of experience and commitment to pass this in the near future with support and training

- The ability to travel throughout South Lanarkshire
