Job Description

Appointable candidates will be required to work on a temporary basis covering short or long term cover requirements in Primary, Secondary and ASN schools.

Candidates will be required to work between the core hours of 8.45am and 3.30pm, however, there may be slight variations depending on the school and cover requirements.

Being appointed to the Supply Register does not guarantee any minimum hours per week; pay is calculated based on actual hours worked.

The Individual

You will work as an effective member of the support services team within a learning community, delivering a high quality service which supports pupils and staff and contributes to a positive school ethos.

Candidates must have experience of involvement in the care and welfare of young people in a childcare environment. While a formal qualification is not essential, any of the following would be desirable:

• NC in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF Level 6
• SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6
• BA (Hons) Social Work (or equivalent)
• HNC Additional Support Needs (Supporting the Individual)
• National Progression Award Playwork and Child Care
• PDA in Education Support Assistance at SCQF Level 6
• SVQ 2 Playwork at SCQF Level 6
• SVQ Children's Care Learning and Development at SCQF Level 2.

Essential attributes:
• Experience of working with children and/or young people in a formal setting
• Able to demonstrate proven literacy and numeracy skills
• Flexible and adaptable
