Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual who wants to play a major role in our work which helps support unpaid carers. A Team Leader is required to drive forward the Carers Act (Scotland) 2016 duties and related strategic plans to ensure all activity is effectively co-ordinated with the collaboration of unpaid carers, service users/supported persons, voluntary sector partners and health and social care staff. The post holder will link with the Self-Directed Support Team and the Carers Strategy Partnership Leads. Part of the work will involve, supporting the delivery of carer awareness training, delivering practice developments, producing appropriate policies, and procedures across all areas in support of unpaid carers and other related strategic and operational activity. This is an exciting opportunity within Social Work Resources as we are looking for a well organised, motivated individuals to link to both unpaid carers agenda and its alignment to Self-Directed Support (SDS). The successful candidates will be expected to work with both the Planning and Performance Manager (Carers Lead) and Operational Manager Self Directed Support (SDS team) to provide a range of professional support to practice, communication, planning and development activity in relation to unpaid carers. We are therefore looking for an individual who has experience and understanding of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016, the Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013 (including supporting guidance) and appropriate social work practice in order to ensure unpaid carers are supported to continue in their caring role in good health and wellbeing. The successful candidates will have day to day overarching responsibility in relation to unpaid carers at an operational level but connect with Strategic Planning and all other relevant partners including our main commissioned providers.
