Job Description

About the school: Sanderson High School is a non-denominational school which caters for pupils with Additional Support Needs from S1-S6. The school is part of the Calderglen Learning Community and has extensive links with the local community including Calderglen High School, Universal Connections, South Lanarkshire and Motherwell Colleges, community police, Calderglen country park, local businesses and local sports facilities.

We are looking for a fully qualified teacher with extensive experience in ASN. The successful candidate will lead curricular development and delivery in order to enhance our DYW priority.

We are a South Lanarkshire stand-alone provision for secondary aged learners with a wide range of complex additional support needs. At Sanderson we aim to provide an exceptional learning experience for learners.

We welcome applications from those able to evidence their commitment to developing a learning environment to the benefit of a diverse community of learners. Applicants are welcomed who can evidence experience working in partnership to maximise our learners’ potential.

You will deliver the curriculum for excellence and plan challenging and meaningful learning experiences for learners with complex additional support needs and contribute to whole school initiatives. A proven ability to plan curricular experience which maximise accreditation is vital. Experience and knowledge of SCQF qualifications would be beneficial.

GTC Registration

It is a legal requirement for any teacher teaching in a Scottish state school to be registered with GTC Scotland, General Teaching Council (Scotland) Registration.
