Stirling Council is looking for a highly-motivated individual to join its Internal Audit team and help provide assurance and drive continuous improvement, particularly in respect of the Council's governance, risk management and controls arrangements.
You will possess an HND (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject such as Accounting, and will be able to understand and contribute effectively to achieving the objectives of internal audit. You will also be able to plan, perform and document audit work, and write clear and concise draft reports that include appropriate, evidence-based conclusions and improvement recommendations.
A good understanding of corporate governance is required, as are effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and an understanding of when and how to use these. You will be able to work effectively and flexibly as part of a small team, following instructions with minimum supervision, and to successfully organise and prioritise a workload with competing demands, while maintaining a strong customer focus.
Stirling Council is committed to ensuring the safety of vulnerable people and our recruitment process is designed to support this. The preferred candidate will be subject to a Disclosure Scotland check.
