Stirling is an ambitious Council with an unrivalled location, high quality attributes and rapid growth. We are currently seeking to appoint a Chief Officer of Finance, reporting directly to the Chief Executive. This is a highly influential and strategic role within Stirling Council, working to lead and support the transformation of Council services, ensuring delivery against our strategic goals through the effective and efficient management of financial resources, and will be critical in helping to deliver positive outcomes for those who visit, work or live in Stirling.

In support of that strategy, this role demands highly effective communication skills, with astute political awareness, and a commitment to the design of services that are agile and present best value for our communities. You will have a drive to embed learning which can challenge existing practice and develop new models of service delivery, supporting a continuous improvement culture across all Council services.
A working knowledge and appreciation of financial governance, gained at a senior level, ideally within a political environment, will be required to fulfil the duties of this role. We require an analytical thinker who can demonstrate a positive, proactive outlook and results-driven approach, with the ability to motivate and work with others, building relationships to support the delivery of efficient, customer-focused, public services.
