A temporary vacancy has arisen in the Hospital Discharge team and Intermediate care service with Stirling Council . We are looking for a Qualified Occupational Therapist (registered with the HCPC) for 35 hours per week to support the teams to undertake Outcome Focussed Assessments and to support clients at a period of significant change and trauma to work towards the challenges of returning home. The hospital team work to a two week assessment period, work in a pressured environment with tight timescales and with regular scrutiny from partner agencies to avoid delayed discharges.
Although Hospital Discharge work will take priority there will also be a requirement to undertake assessments within the Short Term Assessment units across Stirling to work in collaboration with health colleagues to coordinate and assess longer term needs. Knowledge and competence in assessing Moving and Handling needs, equipment and adaptations and managing complex discharges and risk is essential.
We are looking for an OT who is an autonomous practitioner and confident in applying core OT skills to maximise independence. You need be confident in challenging colleagues and advocating for service user outcomes despite the pressured timescales and challenges from other professionals and families. Knowledge and experience in AWI and ASP procedures is also essential.
