In Stirling Council we want to be risk aware, not risk averse. To support this approach we are seeking to recruit a dynamic individual to join our team in the key role of Risk & Resilience Officer.
Working as part of a small team alongside the Team Leader, another Risk & Resilience Officer and the Risk Graduate Officer, you will be responsible for supporting organisational compliance with the Civil Contingences Act (CCA) 2004 through the delivery of Stirling Council’s Emergency Planning, Business Continuity and Risk Management arrangements. In addition, ensuring that plans are in place and that high quality resilience related training & exercising is delivered to our people is crucial to ensure that we are prepared to respond to any major emergency affecting the local population.
Key to this role will be the ability to work with and influence colleagues and the post involves partnership working with other organisations including the emergency services, the NHS, voluntary agencies and other partners. You will contribute to the Local Resilience Partnership, Regional Resilience Partnership and supporting groups, who ensure a multi-agency response to major emergencies across Forth Valley and the East of Scotland.
You will be educated to degree level e.g. Award in Resilience Management (SCQF level 9) and/or have equivalent experience. Experience and understanding of risk and resilience would ideally have been in a public sector context. You will also have knowledge and understanding of the regulatory environment.
