An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Team Leader (Network) to join the management team within the Roads & Land Services section of Localities & Infrastructure, Environment & Place.
Based in Endrick House, Stirling, and under the direction of the Roads & Land Service Manager, we are seeking an individual to lead a number of our service delivery areas, to enable the Service to meet its key challenges.
The post holder will have responsibility for directing and leading a multi-disciplined number of professional and frontline operational staff across the Land & Roads service consisting of circa 20 employees. This post will have direct line management responsibility for the following service areas; Network Management, Development Control, Traffic Management, Road Safety, Planning, Programming & Pricing, and Street Lighting.
This post holder will also be required to lead and manage other teams across the Environment & Place service as directed by the Service Manager and/or Senior Management Team.
You will be required to effectively manage and develop people, plant and financial resources to provide Best Value in the delivery of Roads & Land Services.
The post holder will also hold devolved budgetary responsibility, managing an allocation of the total budget of approximately £1M.
You will ensure the effective provision and delivery of roads and open space related maintenance activities and other projects as required by the Council, provide team leadership and work with other council officers, teams and key partners to ensure the effective service provision. This will enable the Council’s standards and statutory responsibilities to be fully met.
Key responsibilities in this regard incorporate leading, developing and managing service delivery teams to ensure optimal operational performance and customer satisfaction. You will also contribute towards the adoption of a data led approach to service delivery by fully utilising available performance / customer data to drive continuous improvement and service enhancement in line with customer and localities based expectations.
Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience in a related discipline, you will possess a demonstrable track record in team leadership, managing an operational service delivery team within a relevant / transferable management environment.
The successful applicant will play a key part in ensuring that the Council meets its statutory responsibilities, focussing on the management and development in the principal areas of Network Management, Development Control, Traffic Management, Road Safety, Planning, Programming & Pricing, and Street Lighting.
