Job Description
MAIN DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the operation of a crossing point, maintaining control over persons awaiting instruction to cross.
To ensure the safe passage of children between specified times across the public highway between two designated footway locations.
To ensure the crossing point is operated safely and effectively under the terms of all relevant legislation, Road Traffic Regulations 1984 Road Safety GB and RoSPA.
Where flashing lights are sited the School Crossing Patroller may be required to operate them. This includes switching on/off on commencement and termination of duty.
To ensure all guidance and rules provided in the School Crossing Patrol Handbook are adhered to along with all relevant Health and Safety instructions.
To report any near misses or any dangerous occurrence to a Facilities Management Team Leader.
To ensure that uniform and equipment is worn and used correctly at all times.
Responsible for highlighting any defects in uniform or equipment immediately to line manager.Requirements
