An opportunity has arisen to work as a Senior Road Safety & Traffic Management Engineer within the Traffic Management section of our Roads & Land Service. The successful applicant will play a vital role in the delivery of the Council’s road safety, traffic management and active travel functions. You will act as lead officer for road safety functions including accident investigation, studies, works programming and road safety audits. You will also help lead the traffic management team on the consultation, design, preparation of cost estimates, and implementation of traffic management, road safety and parking infrastructure maintenance projects across the council area. Together with colleagues across the Council, you will also play an important role in the design and delivery of Stirling Council’s active travel priority schemes, including safer routes to schools. You will provide technical advice on aspects of road safety, traffic regulation, traffic signs and road markings, traffic signals and pedestrian crossing facilities in accordance with current legislation. You will assist the Traffic Management Team Leader in the formulation of policy and delivery of programmes and deputise as required.
