Job Description

Stirling Council is seeking a Service Manager for Sustainable Transport to lead the development and delivery of a wide range of innovative projects across our programmes. The postholder will lead the development of our Local Transport Strategy and City & Region Deal projects.

This excellent opportunity will shape the future of transport in the Stirling Council area, and regionally, recognising the national Climate Change Plan, National Transport Strategy and National Planning Framework 4; as well as our own Climate and Nature Emergency Plan, Local Development Plan and Thriving Stirling plans.

The postholder will have significant strategic knowledge of transport strategies, and the experience of working both locally and regionally. Long term planning, and experience of overseeing infrastructure projects from inception through to completion will be essential.

Leadership and influencing skills will be essential as the Council and our communities chart our way through the difficult challenge of climate change and the need to embrace low emission transport options.

Proven leadership and management skills will be required to ensure that the service operates in a collaborative manner within and outwith the Council, and the ability to lead engagement and effectively support our Elected Members and communities.

If you’ve got the right skills for the job we want to hear from you. We encourage applications from the right candidates regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief or race.
