Job Description

As part of the general Supply Teaching Pool you will provide high quality learning and teaching where cover is required within Stirling Council primary schools. You will be required to teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and assessing of children’s work; and assist in developing the school curriculum. You will provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues relating to their education, working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals and contribute towards the good order and wider needs of the school. Undertaking appropriate Continuous Professional Development, you will participate in issues related to school planning, raising attainment and individual review where appropriate. You will have a relevant teaching qualification together with GTCs registration. With excellent interpersonal skills you will have good demonstrable classroom practice with sound knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence. All teachers, other than probationers, who are registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland appointed to posts in Stirling Council establishments will be placed on point 1 of the Main Grade Salary Scale or such higher point as determined with reference to this agreement and SNCT 35. Probationers are placed on Point 0 of the Main Grade Salary Scale until they have achieved full registration with GTC(S). Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children.
