Job Description
Ochil House is a department for pupils with additional support needs, many with complex health care requirements, within Wallace High School.
The role of the Support for Learning Assistant (SLA) is to provide compassionate and quality support to children and young people with additional support needs (ASN) within the department of Ochil House. SLAs are responsible for the personal care needs of pupils and, under the direction of the principal (or class) teacher, assist pupils with specific learning activities to follow instructions and organise their work. When required, SLAs will provide supervision for pupils outwith the classroom for example, corridors, dining area, during PE (including assisting with changing in the swimming pool) and organised school trips, college, etc.Requirements
You will have a pleasant manner and a proven capacity to establish positive relationships with children and young people. Experience of working with children and young people with additional support needs and an interest in their development is essential.
